We are planning to use Almerta Station as a base and tourer around the Flinders Ranges each day.

We are expecting to setup a base station at Almerta Station.

Listen out for us on Rons vk3ahr net each day on 7.100 around 10am.

After the morning Net which usually runs until around 11am, we will then listen on the same 40M Frequency 7.100 either from our accommodation or via our mobiles.

There is a local Repeater not far from Quorn.

VK5RAE. This is also a IRLP Connected Repeater so connection back to the AllStar system may be possible.

For the members travelling to the Flinders Ranges here are some suggestions on what to take.

Suggestions:

  • Bedding (Sleeping Bag / Doona / Pillow

  • Toiletries (Toothbrush etc)

  • Clothing (Suitable for all weather, shorts, jackets, Hats, and perhaps some swim wear)

  • Medications (Check you have enough medication and take any scripts with you) There is a chemist at Orroroo SA.

  • Shoes (good walking shoes for rough terrain etc, as well as comfortable shoes and socks)

Orroroo SA is around 40mins south of Almerta Station.

  • Food (As our accomodation has a kitchen etc, I expect we will do our food shopping prior to arrival at the small town of Orroroo SA.

  • Radio Gear (Take what ever radio gear you would like to take) A Hand Held Rig would be handy for any walks we may do.

  • Vehicles (Spare fuel, Tools, Tyre repair gear etc)

  • Chairs (A chair of some type would be handy as well)

  • Table (A small portable table would be handy but not totally necessary)

Any suggestions... please drop me an email on vk3ncrmail@gmail.com
