Be interested to know if anyone has experience of Icoms RS-BA1 Remote software?
On the surface it looks quite interesting, but as with all software it's bound to have limitations. It's Windows only, so that eliminates some of the market, but features on Win 11 look OK.
It comes with an 89 page instruction manual, which you can download from Icom Japan (and presumably Icom Australia). From what I've seen so far Japanese site seems to have more up to date information, or maybe it just comes up first on Google search.
Look forward to any feedback on the software.

Hi Craig
I've read through the User manual for the iPad and iPhone version of this software. The iPhone version has information on D-Star useage, but nothing in iPad manual although product comparison chart show's its available in both platforms.
I've sent Marcus and email seeking clarification on D-Star and iPad platform.
The other obvious questions is , does this software replicate the features that Ian presented on Remote Access Project? From the little I know, this software bounces through your own IC-705, whereas Ian's uses clubs system-have I missed something?
Cheers
Phillip
Hi Craig
can confirm that BOTH the iPhone and iPad can handle D-Star, so that's a great piece of news. The iPad version has been around longer, with the iPhone version being a new release.
Still favouring iPad version. You can always hotspot to your iPhone if out and about.
Why is it that new hobbies always seem to open up new avenues of expenditure?
Hi Craig. Great post on the software from https://roskosch.de/. This is different to the ICOM software I mentioned, but it looks a whole lot better. I think I may look into the iPad version as the display is more friendly for senior eyes.
The version costs $79.99 which I assume is US$ so about AUD $125, which is pretty good value when you look at its features. The Icom software is about AUD$150.
Marcus Roskosch has written quite a few apps for ham users
I thought I saw somewhere that it could use D-Star, but may have been the separate iPhone version which doesn't have waterfall feature due to screen limitations. Let me look into this issue and I'll get back to you tomorrow. I would prefer D-Star over any other feature, based on my current newbie experience.
Cheers
Hi Phillip,
Well done on the post..
I have been considering this one so I can access my IC-705 via my iPad..
He also makes it for the iMac as well.
There a few vidoes on Youtube for it as well.. Looks pretty good. Not sure if DStar can be used for it.
Cheers.
Craig.
